One can surely teach without technology and you won't be a worse teacher because of that but why not make the process of studying more appealing for pupils?
Today you will learn about three really great computer applications that you can use at the lesson as well as after the lessons.
The only minus is that you may need computers at the lesson, interractive board or maybe smartphones, but if you have a lesson in the computer class once a week, as I have this year, it may work perfectly.
1. #1 is Quizlet. This program is mainly for vocabulary, but you can use sentences as well. It contains several categories at which you can train vocabulary:

Here is a link to one of my quizlet test for Year IV students based on the book Brainy Quizlet test, Year IV.
See how it is easy for a teacher to make it.
2. #2 is Kahoot. It works very similar. You type in the questions, set the time for a question to be displayed on the board. It works exactly as in the picture. The question and the illustration are displayed on the board and pupils on their smartphones choose the answer. In the end you have the number of correct and wrong answers of every pupil as they sign in their names before starting. The only minus of this program is that you'll need an interractive board and a smartphone for every pupil. In my school students aren't allowed to use phones during the school time, so I would need computers and an interractive board at once.
3. #3 is learningapps.org That's absolutely marvelous as here you can make any dream test you want.
- matching pairs
- group assignment
- number line
- simple order
- freetext input
- matching pairs on images
- multiple choice quiz
- cloze test
- combination of applications
- the millionair game
- crossword
- matching pairs on a map
- word grip
- crossord
- hangman
- horse race
Whatever a teacher's soul may need:-) I stronly recommend! Here is a link to the tasks I made for my Year VII students using Learningapps.org You can easily creat your own test with material suitable for your students.
4. #4 is QUIZIZZ. It's probably one of the best applications that is loved by all the pupils. It works similar to KAHOOT, but your pupils don't need smartphones at the lesson, only a computer. I have lessons of English in the computer room and it's always a great success there.
