THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR. YOUNGER LEARNERS

I'm sure that you all know this book by Eric Carle. It can be a really good story to teach your young pupils names of food, mainly fruit and vegetables. In this post I decided to share with you the printables that I have found for this topic and that can be useful at the lesson devoted to food.

First, if somebody doesn't know the story, here is the animated film, that you can watch with your students at the lesson. Watch The Hungry Caterpillar here.

Here you can download the flashcards to the story.

Here is a board game. In the game pupils can either name the food or give a sentence saying what the Caterpillar ate on a certain day.

Here you'll find food diaries for your pupils where they can write in the food they eat during the whole week. Download the food diary here.

Here is a mini book in which the pupils can write the name of the day and the name or the food the Caterpillar ate. They can colour it too. Download the mini book.

I hope that you find the printables useful. Here is a link to another useful book at the lesson of English with younger learners A SHARK IN THE PARK by Nick Sharratt. Read how you can use it at the lesson and download it.
